So this week has been very exciting for me because after meeting with my site supervisor I am very excited that we made the decision that I would research and study different ways to integrate technology into a math classroom.  I am very excited to start researching and applying my findings into my classroom!

Action Research and Blogs

Action research is an in depth study of the current practices and what can be done to modify these practices to further the development of our school. It is in essence a system of lifelong learning, asking the learner to involve themselves in constant reflection. This allows the learner to constantly further and better their school. Professionals seek out change and reflect on their practice by posing questions, collecting data to gain insight, analyzing the data, making changes in practice based on their new understandings, and then sharing these findings with others.  I think that action research can unite faculty by the reflection and sharing that it requires.  Teachers will be more apt to offer up their solutions and advice if everyone on the campus is participating in action research.
I personally think I will use action research to further my knowledge in technology in a math classroom setting.  I want to use more technology in the class, but have a hard time integrating in math and still have time to teach all the necessary teks.  I would also like to some how introduce action research into my classroom.  I want allow my students to take part in action research and have them reflect on what processes work and don't work for them.
Action research is an outstanding tool that can be used in education and helps everyone to become life long learners.

I think blogs can be an amazing tool for educational leaders because every student, parent, teacher, and faculty member can have access to the blog.  I think it can be used as a positive way to reach people and make public announcements.  Also as a way to praise and lift up people whether it be a student or teacher.  I'm sure there are many more ways that an educational leader could use a blog, but these are just a few that came to mind.
